Conservarea preventivă a armelor de panoplie din colecţia Muzeului Judeţean „Ştefan cel Mare” Vaslui. Studiul de caz şi istoric – revolverul Gasser M 1873

  • Subiect: The corrosion is a process of partial or total destruction of metals as a result of chemical or electrochemical reactions when interacting with the environment. Under the action of oxygen in the air or other oxygen-containing environments, the metals are covered with oxides, the thickness of which depends on the temperature and the heating time. The Gasser firm of Ottakring, Vienna and St. Paul, designed and produced the majority of military handguns adopted and used by the Austro-Hungarian Empire. During its heyday, Gasser proved to be one of the most prolific arms makers in central Europe, manufacturing some 100,000 pistols a year. The firm’s better – known designs were based on Lefaucheux double-action mechanism and known as the Montenegrin Gasser, owing to their popularity and association with that kingdom.
