Tipuri de ofrande de întemeiere a construcţiilor

  • Subiect: The dwelling since ever represents for the owner a small familiar universe, a centre of the world. Through setting up rituals it is followed the accomplishment of the archetype, the perfect shape witch cannot be conceived without an offering or a sacrifice. The two large categories of sacrifice are with and without blood. Also, there are individual or community sacrifice ceremonies. Considering the time when those offerings occur we can distinguish between occasional and permanent offerings. There are many types of offerings for the dwelling, but the purpose is always the same: to obtain the spirits’ goodwill, and to banish the evil spirits, protecting the habitants. There are many examples of human sacrifice in the settlements, as well as in the dwelling. The burials under the dwelling floor are widely practiced on Romanian and European territory beginning since the early Neolithic. At Lepenski Vir five different types of funerary deposits were found under the houses. This kind of deposits is documented also in Austria, at Poigen, Czechia and Slovakia, Hungary-last phase of Lengyel culture, at Veszprem Felszabadulăs. A few discoveries are documented for the Dacian period: Grădiştea, (jud. Brăila); Borduşani, (jud. Ialomiţa); Chirnogi, (jud. Călăraşi); Căţelu-Nou (Bucureşti); Poiana, (jud. Galaţi). The coin as a foundation offering appears documented ethnographically. The Christians produced a change in the common mentalities because it abandoned the human sacrifice beneath the houses floors. The cultic offering became the bread, the win, and the candles. All the objects deposed under the houses are there because the dwelling must be lasting and for prosperity later, in time. Ethnographically it is attested the habit to bury a ceramic vase containing cereals, or money. Unfortunately we do not know many aspects related to the preparations of the Neolithic rituals of the funerary deposits.
