Fotografi şi ateliere fotografice din Câmpulung, în a doua jumătate a sec. XIX şi în prima jumătate a sec. XX

  • Subiect: Photographers and the photographic studios in Câmpulung, in the second half of the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century This article refers to photographers and photographic studios in Câmpulung-Muscel, in the second half of the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century. The first photographic studio in this town, and clearly among the first in the country, had been established in 1860 and it was in use until 1869. It was owned by Franz Cavallar. Beside it, there were other few studios in this town, having been owned by Cecilia Cavallar, I. Vestner and Emilie R. Speek. Based on the research of Argeş County Archives, it is revealed the fact that, after the First World War, the photographic studios sooner mentioned did not exist anymore; thus, during the Interwar Period, there were other 16 professional photographers in this town and its surroundings, some of them having been owners of this sort of studios. Unfortunately, all these private owned photographic studios were gradually closed in the first years of the communist dictatorship.
