Avocatul Zosim Chirtop (1868-1953), victimă a regimului comunist

  • Subiect: Barrister Zosim Chirtop (1868-1953), victim of the communist regime The barrister Zosim Chirtop was one of the remarkable personalities of Turda County. Being an outstanding jurist, his activity was mainly linked to the town Câmpeni, but also to the town Turda, where he was prefect during the years 1918-1920. The career of this personality has already been the object of our attention in a written work that has recently been printed. The target of this present article is to bring into the public's attention the oppression the ex-prefect of the county Turda-Arieş suffered from the part of the communist authorities. His persecution started in the year 1945, when Zosim Chirtop was 77 years old. Afterwards, his fortune was seized, and his son Vasile got arrested and sent to a working camp. Zosim Chirtop was always chased by the Security which tried to destroy his public image. Even though he was not sent to prison, due to the persecutions he was subjected to, the barrister got ill, fact which rushed his ending.
