Câteva precizări referitoare la casa beilicului din Bucureşti (sec. XVII-XIX)

  • Subiect: Some Considerations Regarding the Beylik from Bucharest (the 17th – the 19th Centuries) A too little known edifice (because of the scarce information) is that of the “house for guests” (Beylik) used for the Ottoman office workers who came to Bucharest to communicate orders from Istanbul or for solving some problems regarding the Ottomans spread around the country. This “house for guests” is attested at the first half of the 17th century. It was situated on the main access ways of Bucharest: Podul Şerban Vodă. Both the Phanariot and the local princes payed attention to this edifice, in order to offer the best condition of staying for the Ottoman high officials coming to Wallachia.
