Consideraţii privind cultura Militari-Chilia în Vestul Munteniei

  • Subiect: Considerations about Militari-Chilia Culture in the Western Part of Muntenia The western part of Muntenia was included inside the Roman Empire borders from the middle or the end of the 2nd century AD until the middle of the 3rd century AD.In this study we present a general view ofthe archaeological discoveries in the civiliansettlements and cemeteries from this region. There were found rural settlements at Scorniceşti, Coloneşti-Mărunţei, Coloneşti-Gueşti, Chilia, Socetu and many others. Inside of these were discovered dwellings, pottery kilns and a lot of pits containing archaeological materials as pottery, brooches, coins, animal bones ant others. At Chilia, Scorniceşti, Stoicăneşti and Dăneasa were signaled cemeteries or isolated graves. All the graves were of incineration. The human bones were found inside of some vessels, fragments of vessels or only into burial pits. These settlements and cemeteries may be attributed to Geto-Dacians that lived in the most part of Muntenia (except eastem, north-eastem and south-eastem) part and created Militari-Chilia culture.
