The Communist Regime between 1965 and 1989 in Different Forms of Accomplishing Teaching, Learning, Evaluation

  • Subiect: The task of historian is that, from documents and reliahle information, to he as close as possihle to the truth, while heing aware that judgments on historical truth will never he one. This is revealed today in Romanian society, which, even if they are over 20 years from removing communist dictatorship opinions are still divided in many ways. Starting from the f act that the study of history is fundamental in education and training young generations, but considering also that the history we studied in school differsfrom other "histories", authors ofthe article propose a new method of teaching the lesson "Nicolae Ceausescu's - national-communist regime" of curricula for the eighth grade of gymnasium, hased on the school curriculum, as an optional program on "Communism in Gorj county (1971-1989)", which can be adapted both the secondary school and the high school in any county from Romania. Our teaching project is trying to avoid turning the lesson into a rigid activity, focusing on attracting students to practical work, training skills analysis of documents and reasoning to formulate opinions, conclusions. Theme of proposed optional refers to a period in recent history that has left deep scars in society, mentalities with issues still to be decoded, the opinions and different points of view on contemporary assessments. The authors propose hesides knowledge and analysis of events, historical facts, also students can read, understand, and appreciate how the man was seen and perceived hy the communist ideology, what kind of personality must have "new man", and starting from here to understand that fundamental rights must he respected not only stated and manifestation of civic attitudes can avoid other historical accidents.
