Săsenii din Bîscenii de Jos. Spiţă de neam

Subiect: The author outlines the importance of family records preserved in the State Archives for tracing the genealogy of some freeholders families. The first family Săseanu from Bîscenii de Jos was set up by Radu (II) Săseanu, a native of Nişcov Valley whose wife was of Mărgineanu family. In the course of time, the freeholders of Săseanu family, six descendants in the 3rd stage and fifteen in the 4th stage, played an important role in the administration of Wallaichia: Tudor, Mihai's son, in the 3rd stage as a bailiff of the Buzău region, the most remarkable rnember of this genealogy, Moise and Bănică, in the 4th stage, as polcovnic and Costache, Moise's son, as a 3rd chancellor of Divan. There were identified 77 members with the ten stages of genealogy developed for three centuries (1676-1984).
