  • Subiect: On the occasion of the 50 year anniversary since the great demonstration on the 1st of May 1939 the authors bring to our attention the fact that starting with 1889 May Day has becomen, even more clearly, a symbol of the actions of the working class, of their will to abolish exploitation and to build up a new society, equal and right, in the service of those who work. There is mentioned the decision to mode by the Political Executive Committee of the Roumanian Communist Party on the 2 nd March 1989 regarding the celebration of 50 years since the patriotic, antifascist and anti-war demonstration on the 1st of May 1939 and of 100 the years since the declaration of May Day as the day of lnternational solidarity of those who work.
