Casa şi artiştii Storck - repere în arta monumentală românească timp de un secol

  • Subiect: A museum in Bucharest preserves the memory of some exceptional artists. The „Frederic Storck and Cecilia Cuţescu Storck Museum" at the very center of Bucharest, is sheltered in a house-work-of-art itself, gathering the creations of a real dynasty of artists: that of Karl Storck, sculptor of Gennan origin, of his sons Carol and Frederic, and of his daughter-in-law, Cecilia Cuţescu. The paper sketches details concerning the Storck genealogy and descendants, up to date. The Museum collection - donated by Cecilia Cuţescu - Storck and her daughters - comprises paintings, drawings, sculptures, Frederic Storck's numismatic collection, one of religious sculpture, folk objects, all reunited within the special setting due to Cecilia Cuţescu's mural paintings and to decorative sculptures. The residence was built between 1911- 1913, by the architect Alexandre Clavel, at the direct instructions of the Storck artists, Frederic and Cecilia. After presenting the Museum, the authors writes about the achievements of each of the Storck artists, in the field of monumental art.
