La marginea istoriei artei: descoperindu-l pe Ionescu Doru, pictor favorit al colecţiei N. Minovici

Subiect: This paper represents a first attempt to recover a part of a Romanian painter`s activity, whose creation has been forgotten by the art history. Ionescu Doru, the best represented artist of the N. Minovici painting collection, was a member of many artistic societies with innovative goals. The artist, previously mobilized during the World War I, took part in collective attempts of creating the national Romanian art. After the World War II, Ionescu Doru failed to assert himself as an artist, as his work was no longer in tune with the exigencies of the artistic atmosphere. Despite the loss of interest in the painter`s creation, analyzing his works can lead to a better understanding of the „N. Minovici” Folk Art Museum collection, presented in the national cultural context – that of the beginning of the last century.
