Axis mundi

Subiect: The article develops the tree symbolism beginning with the Iznik ceramics to the Assyrian period. Iznik art is a style depicting imaginative and stylized flowers, animals and other natural themes. The tree is one of the oldest symbols from iconographic language, which had many significations in time. Axis Mundi is well known as the connection between heaven and earth. ln conclusion, it may be pointed out that that tree symbolism had political, social and economic implications.
