  • Subiect: The National Contest for Children ''Traditional Folk Crafts'' a certainty concerning the future of the Romanian folk art Being material or immaterial, the cultural patrimony has the same goal, that îs to educate, giving a feeling of identity and continuity, causing respect towards the cultural diversity and human creativity. The National Contest for Children ''Traditional Folk Crafts" safeguards, în every way possible (research, preservation, promotion, handing down especially through education) everything that îs related to the traditional folk crafts, a part of immaterial patrimony, contributing this way to the knowledge of the values of Romanian folk civilization by our children. The main goal of this event îs to attract school's attention (students and teachers) on the long-lasting traditional values and especially to preserve and to hand down towards the young generation the techniques related to the traditional crafts. lt is noticeable that every year the contest is improving due to the gifted children and teachers that make great efforts and due to the dialogue between the ethnical groups from Romania or between the varied religions în the country. The big number of participants (more than 150 children accompanied by their instructors) assure us that the values of the immaterial patrimony, here techniques and instruments related to traditional crafts still have a future.
