  • Subiect: During the Middle Ages, important parts of the Orthodox Church estates were coming from donations. These donations represented a relevant indices of the social status of the Church itself; as an institution. The paper deals with donation documents of the Cotroceni monastery, dating from the XVIIth - XVIIIth centuries and, implicitly, with the social attitudes towards the monastic life - important component of the medieval mentalities.
