  • Subiect: The Bucharest Municipal Museum has rich collections of decorative art made from glass, porcelan, wood, metal, that has worthy collelctions decorated with heraldic emblems, monograms. Our subject is not new, it came to complete an old research made a few years ago, research about heraldic signs and monograms that decorated metal objects especially that for common use made. The metal object collection has aproximately 10.860 of pieces, with a very large tipological diversity, including not only ornamental pieces but also common use objects: plates, glass, cutlery, candlesticks, kettles made in France, England, Germany, Rissian, or made here in Romania. Our emblem and monograms applied on the metal objects are as spectacular as that applied on glass, porcelan or other materials highlights the emblem. Their aplication on the metal is made through engraving, with often no colour. However the emblem is an artistic graphic representation made, with main elements of community, family or an institution. In this article we will talk about emblems on the objects with decorative function and common use also, that belonged to the ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza and Royal family of Romania.
