Chitila fermă. Studiu monografic I. Istoricul cercetărilor

  • Subiect: Salvation archaeological diggings started at Chitila Farm in the summer of 1982, in order to protect the sites and historical monuments from being destroyed during the various works undertaken in the area, meant to build facilities for tourists and sports competitions. Archeological research in the territory was initiated in 1972, by historian Aristide Stefanescu; new diggings started in 1982. The paper makes a historical and geographical description of the place, stressing upon its archeological richness and importance. Vestiges date from the paleolithic period, or mezolithic, neolithic, dacian and daco-roman periods, but a/so from the Middle Ages (up to the XVII-XVlIIth centuries).
