Spectrul trofic a trei populaţii de Bombina Bombina (Linnaeus 1761) din judeţul Satu Mare (România)

  • Subiect: The article presents a study of the trophic spectrum of three populations of Bombina bombina from Satu-Mare County. From the stomach contents, collected using the stomach flushing method, there were identified vegetal remains, shed skins and animal preys represented by different invertebrates. Among the last ones the most important were: Hymenoptera-Formicidae, Homoptera Aphids and Cicadas, Collembola, Coleoptera. There is variability in the feeding of the toads depending on the three habitats. As far as the toads’ sex is concern, the food composition of males denotes an active-foraging strategy while females and juveniles use the sit-and-wait method for feeding. Toads had eaten mainly terrestrial preys.
