Din nou despre evoluţia istorică şi urbanistică a oraşului Roman

  • Subiect: „The Roman town represent a special case of urban evolution starting from a fortified nucleus ( 13th_ 14th centuries), with arias, faubourgs and streets specialized by their functions or by the ethnical orig ins of their inhabitants. The bishop court, the ancient hospital were the dominant points of the mediaeval and modern town ( 15th_ 181h centuries). From this part of the town, situated in a bend of Moldova River, evolved in the 191h-201h centuries to the North the modern town with commercial streets and industrial faubourgs. The traditional frame of the town was been partially destroyed under the communist regime by the ugly blocks of flats and industrial and administrative buildings. Some fronts of streets with the ancient merchant's warehouses and workshops, or old familial houses/ town manors of boyards surrounded by gardens stil I subsisted, endommaged from the old town. tn 2000, the authors performed an inventory of the Roman heritage for the new urban plan ning.”
