O ctitorie de la cumpăna veacurilor XVII şi XVIII. Biserica Adormirea Maicii Domnului a fostului schit Dideşti, judeţul Teleorman

  • Subiect: The Dideşti convent, Teleorman county, was built by sluger Şerban Ştirbei and his wife Stanca, clucer Ivaşcu Băleanu's daughter, at the end of the XV11th century or at the beginning of the xv111th century and despite of all the gifts and contributions of the family, the monument had been falling into an irreversible decline up untill 1864 when it stopped functioning. The ruins of a vaulted cellar and parts of the enclosure wa.11, together with „Adormirea Maicii Domnului church" - entirely preserved , of small sizes and carrying visible traces of some changes - are the only remaining structures of the monastic assembly. The standing edifice submits to a hall type plan with the steeple above the pronaos and a square porch, less wide than the front side and not often used in the age.
