Tara Românească, secolele XVI-XVII

Subiect: This article is aiming to provide an organized inventory of all wood churches dating from the 16th-17th centuries which have been discovered further to archaeological investigations. Secondly, the intention behind this article is to emphasize the significant contribution of archaeological research in planimetric reconstitution of seme vvooden constructions unknown so far and, thus, enrichment of the portfolio of cult edifices. Also, it is more and more obvious that vvooden architecture had represented an important section throughout the above-mentioned period of time , both in the rural and urban environment. Documentary sources of that age confirm that observation, vvooden houses and churches having been extensively built at that time as they were accessible and easy to maintain.
