Cercetări arheologice preventive în necropola romană de la Apulum, Dealul Furcilor-Podei

  • Subiect: Archaeological rescue excavations in the Roman Necropolis from Furcilor Hill – Podei at Apulum Archaeological rescue investigations at Apulum from the Summer of 2016, within the Roman Necropolis from Dealul-Furcilor Podei (landowner Racz Endre) revealed a number of four brick inhumation graves. The building technique is typical for this time period and it consists of two entirely brick sarcophagi and two others made also from brick with additional wooden structures. This particular research allows us to establish a better geographical limit of the western part of the necropolis. Anthropological analysis concluded the presence of three non-adults (with ages at death varying between 1.5 to 12.5) and two adult individuals. Pathological indicators consistent with a generalised infection were established in case of M4, a non-adult individual.
