  • Subiect: Oradea, an important railway junction between Western and Eastern Europe, at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries The article emphasizes the importance of Oradea within the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century as a railway junction between the western and the eastern parts of Europe. Due to its strategic position Oradea became a pole of interest for the economic development of the Empire toward Eastern Europe. The integration of Oradea in the railway network of the empire meant the economic and social development of the city, mostly visible in industrial and civil architecture.
