Limba română vorbită pe Valea Târnavei Mari în transcrierea fonetică realizată de Michael Conrad von Heydendorff cel Bătrân

  • Subiect: Romanian language spoken on the Târnava Mare Vallez in the phonetic transcript made by Michael Conrad von Heydendorff the Elder (1773) The article presents monuments of Romanian language spoken in the 18th century on the Tarnava Mare Valley, in Central Transylvania, in the Saxon-Hungarian phonetic transcription rendered by Michael Conrad von Heydendorff the Elder. The Saxon autobiographer from Mediaş was an imperial commissary guiding Austrian emperor Joseph II during his first visit in Transylvania, also describing the imperial visit of 1–2 June 1773 in his autobiography. Not only Heydendorff was a fluent speaker of Romanian, but this eminent emperor himself showed a special interest and even mastered to a certain degree the language spoken by the Transylvanian Romanians, as illustrated by numerous fragments offered in our article.
