Pe Valea Hârtibaciului, în căutarea tradiţiei

  • Subiect: Along the Hartibaci Valley seaking for traditions Within the framework of the National Program "The European Year of the Intercultural Dialogue 2008", 'Emil Sigerus' Saxon Ethnographic Museum initiated the project "Cultural-historical guide-marks of multicultural Transylvanian civilisation, field research". The ethnographic researches carried on this year in the Saxon villages along the Hartibaci Valley (Oaia, Nou, Roşia, Vurpăr, Hosman, Marpod, Chirpăr, Nocrich, Alţâna and Merghindeal) represent one of the major objectives of the emergency ethnology from Transylvania. The evaluation of the museum's patrimony including 120 cultural objects from the researched region, led to the identification of stylistic, morphologic and functional particularities of all Saxon folk cultural values from these villages, taking into account the phenomenon of depopulation of Transylvanian Saxon Village, especially after 1989, following the great emigration of Saxons to Germany, which had dramatic consequences upon keeping the ethnocultural identity of the region. The researchers recovered a rich and complete documentary material regarding the oral history of every Saxon community, thus obtaining a systematic fund of audio and video recordings, field documents, digital images and documentary photos. All these will complete an electronic database of the museum and will contribute to their use for scientific purposes.
