Simboluri vegetale în arta populară bucovineană

  • Subiect: Vegetable motifs in Bucovina's folk art are as common as geometric ones and it is amazing how these varieties are represented and combined in all genres of popular creation: trees or trees of all kinds (apple, walnut, plum, fir, hazelnut, maple, oak , vines, branches, plants, leaves, buds, flowers and fruits, more or less copies of the surrounding nature as imagined by each creator. Interesting is the significance of these symbols in folk art, but also in what are the rites of passage, the calendar and the celebrations. All these motifs are found on popular portraits, in Bucovina embroidery, on ceramics and wooden objects, on interior fabrics, but also on icons, on painted eggs, on horns for gunpowder.
