Restaurarea unor icoane împărăteşti de început de secol XIX

  • Subiect: Dating from 1802, the icons forming the Sovereign Tier of the Iconostasis at Fălticeni Church were painted in tempera, on resinous wooden panels. Each component element of the icons was degraded: the wooden panels, the adhesive base, the paint and base coats, the varnish, and the polychrome layer. The most difficult and tedious of the restoration phases was concerned with the polychrome layer, as it was covered in several coats of bronze and resin based paint.
