Consideraţii asupra locului unde s-a desfăşurat Bătălia de lângă Vaslui (10 ianuarie 1475)

  • Subiect: The Battle of Vaslui was one of the most important victories of Prince Ştefan cel Mare against the Ottomans. It took place on 10 January 1475, after Ştefan refused to pay tribute to the Ottoman Sultan. The Turks foolishly decided to invade Moldavia and suffered a major defeat with high casualties. The Christian forces, composed of Moldavians, Hungarians and Poles, and outnumbered nearly 3 to 1, defeated the Ottoman Empire and their allies. Ştefan was later awarded the title „Champion of Christ” by Pope Sixtus IV.
