  • Subiect: Nicolae Milescu Spătarul is perhaps the most complex personality of the 17th century, being a scholar, diplomat, theologian, historian, ethnographer, philologist, writer, translator, memorialist. The extensive experience and author's encyclopedism, as well as the controversial ethnic origin caused many of his theological and historical conceptions to not be fully framed in a cultural trend or orientation. Being a consummate scholar, he is equally claimed by Romanian culture, Greek culture or is considered a leading activist of the cultural movement that began in Russia in the 17th century.
