Bancnotele emise de Banca Naţională a României în timpul doniei regelui Carol al II-lea

  • Subiect: The monetary circulation during the reign of King Carol II was adapted to the economic realities. The old monetary types circulated for a period, but depending on the demand of the market, some nominal values of banknotes are taken over by coins, or new notes with new nominal values are introduced into circulation. The 100 lei banknote, type II, will be replaced by the silver coin of 100 lei, the last date of exchange being 31st of January 1933. Later on, the 100 lei bill was printed between 1940-1942, in the circumstances of the beginning of World War II. The 5,000 lei banknote was placed into circulation on the 1st of March 1932. It was the first banknote printed in the taille-douce system.
