160 de ani de la înfiinţarea Statului Major General – operă a domnitorului Alexandru Ioan Cuza

  • Subiect: 160 years since the establishment of the General Staff - the work of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza Ruled by Alexandru Ioan Cuza, the state and society went through a historical period rich in reforms which aimed to create and establish the fundamental institutions of the state. In the years that followed, a series of measures led to the unification of the two military organisms of Muntenia and Moldavia simultaneously with increasing the military staff by founding more infantry and artillery regiments and also some mountain infantry, lancer fighters and engineer battalions. Legislative measures also played an important role. The military publications that appeared at that time have conceptually grounded the modernization of the army. In truth, having in mind what he managed to accomplish during his 7 years reign, Alexandru Ioan Cuza can be among others the founder of the modern Romanian state. The modern Romanian Army is also one of his major accomplishments.
