R.W. Seton-Watson şi relaţiile româno-ungare în timpul scurtei existenţe a republicii ungare a sfaturilor

  • Subiect: R.W. Seton-Watson and Romanian - Hungarian relations during the short existence of the Hungarian Republic of Councils The English historian, publicist, and politician Robert William Seton-Watson (1879-1951) is one of the most representative British personalities who supported the cause of the liberation and unity of the oppressed nations in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He carried out several officious and secret missions, thus playing the role of an unofficial adviser to the Foreign Office in Austro-Hungarian and Balkan affairs, in which he came to be considered an expert. Seton-Watson's articles in "The New Europe" and his links with delegates to the Great Powers at the Peace Conference, especially with A.W.H. Leeperand Harold Nicolson (members of the British delegation) undoubtedly had an influence on the decisions made at the Conference.
