Restoration of the scholastic map of Dacia and today's Romania

  • TITLU în română: Restaurarea hărţii scolastice a Daciei şi a României de astăzi
  • Subiect: The scholastic map of Dacia and today's Romania was made by Grigore Bejan, infantry officer, and engineer, being printed in Iaşi by the Geographical Service of the Army. The map was made in the interwar period for school use, being a physical, administrative, and economic map. The emphasis is on the historical side, the map of Greater Romania being overlapped with the map of ancient Dacia which is delimited by its natural borders: Dniester, Tisza, Slovak Carpathians, Bug River, and the Danube. This is intended to highlight the continuity of the living of this space by the Romanian people, from the period of Dacia to Greater Romania. This map belongs to Vaslui ”Ştefan cel Mare” County Museum, and, after its restoration, the map was exhibited at the National Restoration Salon Craiova 2019.
