Balta Sărată. Campaniile 1999-2003 (I. Arhitectura)

  • Subiect: The Balta Sărată site is one of the most important for the knowledge of the developed Neolithic evolution from the west part of Romania because of her ethnocultural relations with Serbian Neolithic (Vinca culture), Dudeşti - Vinca cultural aspect in Oltenia, Dudeşti in the Wallachia Plain, the Vinca culture from Ardeal and Banat culture, from the north part of this historical province. For knowing better the Neolithic period, it was very important to extend the research of the Vinca culture in Transylvania. In the same time this excavation brings new data concerning the architecture's evolution (density and display of the houses, kiln systems, hearths, the inner arrangement of the houses) as well as the dynamics of the pottery and the occasion to make some databases. The first living level is related to dugout houses of the VincaA3 (the settlement bas about 2 ha) and has a continuously evolution until the beginning of the Vinca B2 (now the site has 3-4 ha) when a retardation process is starting. The excavations bring new data regarding the Neolithic architecture: houses with a suspended floor, fire installations, loom, rituals related with agricultural cults used when the house was build or destroy. New technical data obtained during the excavation, give us the opportunity to reconstruct the architecture of the level Vinca B1. The new Bronze Age discoveries have brought interesting data related to the nature and intensity of the living in this period as well as for the graves belonging to the Balta Sărată cultural group. During early Medieval Period, 8th-9th centuries BC, in this place there was a village extended over an area of 2 ha.
