Arheometrie şi personalităţi din România. Comemorarea lui Constantin şi Hadrian Daicoviciu

  • Subiect: In 1987 the first national symposium of archaeometry took place at Cluj. Since then passed a lot of years that we can talk about a history of Romanian archaeometry. That is why I will try to sketch some aspects about Romanian archaeometry and in the same time to speak about the two personalities which we commemorate: Constantin and Hadrian Daicoviciu. What is new in archaeometry now compared to 20-30 years ago? Generally I found that the structure of the archaeometry undergraduate and postgraduate lectures keeps a classic structure: dating, technology, analysis and provenience whereupon any include or consider being separate archaeoastronomy, computers, paleozoology, etc. In fact any area of the natural science is applicable in archaeology and it depends on the technologically and methodologically advances in the area. It remains a problem and a permanent duty for the senior researchers to mobilize the youngest passionate in this interdisciplinary and fascinating area.
