Theodor Angheluţă. Portret de intelectual transilvănean interbelic (1882-1964)

  • Subiect: Theodor Angheluţă. The portrait of a Transylvanian scholar în the inter-war period (1882- 1964). Theodor Angheluţă, an outstanding personality of the Romanian Mathematical sciences, was a part of that Interwar intellectuality aware of its destined role in the coagulation of a modem society and of a state whose borders comprised after 1918, Basarabia, Bukovina, Banat and Transylvania. In this context of intellectual effervescence, Theodor Angheluţă arrived in Transylvania, where he took over a position as a professor at the Algebra cathedra of the new-founded Cluj University. During 1923-1955, his activity remained tightly connected to this institution, at the same time publishing numerous Mathematical treatises and collections.
