Douăzeci şi cinci de ani de activitate a Muzeului de Istorie şi Artă din Zalău

  • Subiect: 25 YEARS OF ACTIVITY OF THE HISTORY AND ART MUSEUM OF ZALAU The author presents the attempts to create a museum in Zalău at the end of the 19 century, then in the third decade of our century and finally its setting up in the year 1951. The Museum has three sections: history (ancient) folk art, fine arts. Problems concerning its organization and its patrimony are discussed. Sălaj (district) is rich in archaeological vestiges, their systematical investigation is a permanent preoccupation of research workers of the Museum of Zalau in collaboration with the specialists of the Institutul de Istorie şi Arheologie of Cluj-Napoca. Archaeological investigations carried out at Dacian settlements and forts of Marca, Panic at the Roman forts of Tihău, Romanaş, Romita, Buciumi at the Neolithic settlement of Zăuan and the bronze age settlement of Derşida are mentioned. Further the author shows the preoccupations concerning the reevaluation of investigations or of the collections by publishing monographs or catalogues of collections. Possibilities of communications with the public are reviewed: permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, lectures, trips organized to the historical monuments, competitions for the youth about the history of the county and the district. Finally, the author shows that the History and Art Museum of Zalău (Muzeul de Istorie şi Artă Zalău) the owner of a rich and valuable material fully contributes to the development of cultural revolution led by the Romanian Communist Party with the object of educating the working people and especially the youth
