Elemente decorative la monumentele de arhitectură populară din valea Crasnei

  • Subiect: MONUMENTS OF THE POPULAR ARCHITECTURE FROM CRASNA VALLEY The Crasna Valley flows through a part of Sălaj district in north-western Rumania. The wood, found in abundance in this region, is the basic material for building both dwelling-houses and churches. The beams of the wall are taken shape of a wreath being superposed, style known under the name „Blockbau". The interior of the churches is painted from inside by popular masters which have worked in this zone in the XVIII-th century. Well-proportioned, adorned with numerous notches and wood carvings, this churches excel in their high artistic value and result from the art of popular masters which have built them centuries ago. The wooden churches from Ceheiu, Zalnoc, Chieşd, Derşida and Sighetul Silvaniei, declared historical monuments, protected and restored by our socialist state, are among the most characteristically Rumanian monuments of church architecture, of the Rumanian popular art.
