Trei morminte din secolul III i.e.n. descoperite la Zăuan (jud. Sălaj)

  • Subiect: Three Graves of the 3rd Century B.C. Discovered at Zăuan (District Sălaj) During the archaeological investigations carried out in the village Zăuan (district Sălaj) three incineration graves have been discovered (Plate 1). Graves 1 and 3 used incineration in the pit as burial rite. The inventory of these two graves consists of human bones, gift vessels three in the grave 1 (Plates II; III), five in the grave 3 (Plates X-XI) the gift meat, a knife, two iron spear heads, a spear heel and a whetstone in the grave 1; a bronze bracelet, a bronze ring with pearled relief in grave 3 (Plate X). In each of the graves a handmade vessel in Hallstattian style was found: the big vessel with wings (Plate II) and a bowl in grave 3 (Plate Xl/2). On account of their inventory and the burial rite these two graves belong to the Celts. Grave 2 uses as burial rite the incineration as well: the human bones were put in the urn (Plate VIII). The urn was covered with a handmade bowl, whose bottom is perforated (Plate IX). The grave also contained four gift vessels (Plates VI-VII) and meat; two iron knives come out (Plate V). Owing to the burial rite, the bones being put in an urn with perforated lid, which had good analogies in the cemeteries of the Dacians the author is about to consider the grave as a Dacian one. On account of their inventory especially the metal inventory (bracelets with steckverschluss) these graves are dated in the third century B.C. may be at the end of these Century.
