Analiza materialului faunistic provenit din aşezarea Starčevo-Criş de la Gura Baciului. Rapoarte de săpături. Campania 1994

  • Subiect: The analysis of the bone material from the Starčevo-Criş settlement of Gura Baciului. The campaign of 1994 The bone material from the campaign of 1994, resulted in majority from B 35 complex and a small number of fragments were found in the culture layer and in B 29a and b complex (table 1). Out of it, 237 bone fragments were determined which is a sample too small to allow us to come to final conclusions (table 2). The cattle group which predominates, is represented by 94 fragments which belong to a minimum number of 8 individuals. The measurements of the cattle (table 3) indicate a population of big animals. The caprovines, represented by Ovis aries and Capra hircus species, sum a number of 32 fragments. A minimum number of individuals is 5, out of which 3 are sheep, 1 is goat and for 1 individual we couldn't make the difference sheepgoat. The deer is represented by 18 fragments from Cervus elaphus (1 individual) and Capreolus Capreolus (2 individuals) species. The swine is very scarce. There is only one individual from the Sus scrofa domesticus species and so is the beaver, whose presence hasn't been pointed out in Gura Baciului settlement. There have also been determined 18 fragments of bird bones from Gallus gallus, Corvus monedula, Grus grus and Anser sp. species and 73 fragments of shells from the Helix pomatia (most of them), Helicella obvia, Cepaea vindobonensis and Unio crassus species.
