  • Subiect: About a possible new rebellion of royal servants, against Constantin Şerban (July-August 1655) After the defeat of the Wallachian servants and mercenaries rebellion, through the prompt intervention of the prince of Transylvania, Gheorghe Rákóczy II, Constantin Şerban continued to cause, especially through his rough fiscal policy, the dissatisfaction of certain categories of military servants. Thus, during the months of July-August 1655, the royal horsemen (călăraşii) were about to rebel against their prince. In this article we will try to reconstruct the events based on the existing historical sources. These social upheavals did nothing but erode Constantin Serban's reign very soon.
