Componenţa, structura şi gruparea forţelor din compunerea Comandamentului Trupelor din Transilvania înaintea declanşării ofensivei armatei roşii ungare (19 iulie 1919)

  • Subiect: The components, structure and grouping of the forces from the Transylvania command before the Hungarian Red Army offensive (19 July 1919) Before the initiation of the Hungarian Red Army’s offensive against the Romanian Army (19 July 1919), the Transylvania Command had at its disposal: - Operative troops, 10 divisions: the 1st and 6th Infantry Divisions (from the Old Kingdom), the 1st and 2nd Mountain troops Divisions (from the Old Kingdom), the 16th, 18th, 20th and 21st Transylvanian Infantry Divisions, as well as the 1st and 2nd Cavalry Divisions; - Special troops and those not part of any division: the 11th and 12th Artillery Brigades, 8 batteries of mountain cannons, 2 batteries of self-propelled guns, 2 armoured trains, 1 howitzer battery of 155 mm, 1 anti-aircraft battery of 57 mm, 2 anti-aircraft guns of 75 mm, 1 anti-aircraft battery of 75 mm, the 5th Aircraft Group (3 squadrons) and 3 companies of river pontoneers; - Staging troops: 2 battalions of Transylvanian volunteers, ʺCloscaʺ and ʺCrisanʺ, 3 regiments of Transylvanian volunteers, ʺAlba Iuliaʺ, ʺAvram Iancuʺ and ʺHoriaʺ, the 7th ʺPrahovaʺ Infantry Regiment (from the Old Kingdom) and 3 border guards companies, controlling the Maramures and Banat borders. All of the above were grouped in: - The Operations Area, commanding the Northern Group ʺGeneral Marcel Olteanuʺ, the Southern Group ʺGeneral Stefan Holbanʺ and the overall reserve, under general Mihai Darvari; - The Surveillance Area, with the command post at Cluj.
