Subiect: Case study on restoration of an Lipovenian icon
The icons on wood of Russian School inspiration present a wide typological and iconographic diversity, but also a very complex group of issues concerning their material structure as well as the types of degradation caused by a myriad of factors. Each icon is a unique case with a distinct set of problems.
The study details the methodology of the preservation and restoration of an Russian School wooden quadripartite icon, property of Vâlcea County Museum ”Aurelian Sacerdoţeanu”.
