Conservarea unui fond de carte aparţinând parohiei romano-catolice din Satu Mare

  • Subiect: Conservation of a book collection from Satu Mare Roman - Catholic Parish This work is referring to conservation treatment applied on l00 books belonging to Satu Mare Roman-Catholic Parish. The improper storage conditions generated physical-chemical and biological damages. The purpose of the treatment was to eliminate damages and to ensure a much longer life. For this, they were disinfected using 10% thymol in ethylic alcohol, introducing between the pages pieces of filter paper, treated before with thymol: then, they were kept 72 hours in plastic bags. The dust was removed out of the pages using soft brushes: the leather covers were cleaned out, rehydrated and softened using a solution that includes 60% alcohol, 37% water and 3% glycerine.
