Biserici de lemn din judeţul Sibiu. Mărturii ale civilaţiei lemnului. Circuit turistiv religios

  • Subiect: In Romania, there are around 1400 wooden churches, as it is mentioned in a 2009 repertoire: in Transylvania and Banat there are around 650 churches, in Oltenia, Muntenia and Dobruja there are 490 churches, and in Moldova 300 of them. Along the years, these monuments have been true cultural centers for the Roman ian peasant. On the UNESCO list there appear eight wooden churches of Maramures together with the Danube Delta, the Saxon villages with the fortified churches, Horezu monastery, the painted churches of North Moldavia, Sighisoara citadel, the Dacian ruins, Suceviţa monastery (that has just been recently added). The technique used to build those churches have inspired the minorities of Romania, the people of Moldova Republic, Ukraine and Serbia. One of the examples of this source of inspiration is the wooden synagogue from Piatra Neamt. The research on the history of the Romanian people, on the evolution of the Roman ian houses, have had as starting point the cultural richness of those churches.
