Consideraţii privind cercetarea arheologică a unor necropole medievale bisericeşti din spaţiul pruto – nistrean

  • Subiect: Considerations in archaeological research of the medieval religious necropolis from the Prut – Dniester space Within the archaeological research a special place occupies funeral remains discovered in the spaces inside or around the Holy churches, where they make up the true community burial vaults. Their investigation constitutes an act in terms of the importance of inclusion in the primary circuit of scientifically useful sources such as the knowledge of more accurate funeral rituals in a certain time frame and for a better understanding of religious life or beliefs of local Christian communities in connection with the afterlife. Restoring medieval funerary rites and rituals allows to understand more precisely the vision of communities about the surrounding world and the ways in which the phenomenon of death in connection with various human communities and, at the same time, the evolution over time of these perceptions. On the other hand, a great meaning in medieval burial vaults research are observations concerning on planimetry cemeteries, arrangement or ordering of graves, the chronological and diachronic of using sacred spaces etc., this fact allows to understand more accurately the characteristics and evolution of funerary rite of the first and second half of the 2nd millennium ad in comparison with the burial practices of earlier periods.
