Odiseea preţiosului Tetraevanghel slavon al Mănăstirii Floreşti de pe Valea Smilei

  • Subiect: The odyssey of a precious four gospels manuscris of the monastery Floreşti, situated on the valley of the river Smila In elaborating a history of mentalities, the copying of religious manuscripts, the development of miniatures, bookbinding and of the art of printing, as well as the circulation of such masterpieces have an important role, as long as the means and the spread of written and published works can offer information regarding a historical, social and economic context, and also about the expansion and the interference of religious, cultural and ideological ideas or about the spiritual atmosphere of the time. The Four Gospels manuscript was used prayer by the founders of the monastery Floreşti, situated on the valley of the river Smila. These were Crâstea Ghenovici and his wife, Anghelina, during the reign of Ieremia Movilă, and this is confirmed by the embossed inscription on the bound covers of the manuscript, which was offered by them to the monastery. The calligraphy and the illuminations are very neat, in a small semi-uncial script, the manuscript is of Slavonic edition, being made on filigree paper. The title, the capitals and the ornaments are written and illuminated using vermilion, but green ink also predominates. The manuscript is bound with wooden plates, covered with gilded silver leafs, and the spine, also of gilded silver, has the shape of a fishnet.
