  • Subiect: Considerations regarding the foundation and the organization of the the curacy of Maramures in the second half of the 19th century In the Greek-Catholic Church of Transylvania worked five vicariates foranee (Fagaras Haţeg, Rodna, Silvanus and Maramures.) On August 24 1776, Empress Maria Theresa founded the vicariate for the Romanians in the region of Maramures ("pro districtibus valahicus"). Bishops of Muncaci were sending to Sighet Ruthenian parishes, vicars and only occasionally Romanian priest-vicars because the Greek Catholic parishes from Maramures were under Ruthenian domination. The already mentioned time interval the Vicarage have been managed by: Mihail Pavel (1860-1872), Ioan Pop (1872- 1879), Mihail Kökényesdy (1879-1887) and Tit Bud (1887-1917).
