Despărţământul Miercurea al Asociaţiunii Transilvane pentru Literatura Română şi Cultura Poporului Român (1901 – 1945)

  • Subiect: Romanian Literature and Romanian People's Culture (1901-1945) This study aims to exploit, in an organized manner, the available references in the complete collection of magazine "Transilvania", carefully covered year after year since 1868 at the last issue of 1946. The Transylvanian Association of Romanian Literature and Romanian People's Culture (ASTRA) work began formally in Miercurea Sibiului, with organization of Departments as it was operated under the General Assembly of Şomcuta Mare (1869). The birth document of Miercurea Department is the record of the General Assembly for the establishment, 21 January 1901. Until 1946, we follow: summary of the reports of Cercle Committee, submitted to the Central Committee, with a fluctuating frequency; lists of the names and quality of Department's members - sharing members on statutory categories: founders, for life, ordinary, helpers; lists of popular lectures supported by Department's members (lecturer name, location, title of lecture, sometimes approximate number of listeners); numerical tables and figures, including data on Department's wealth, membership, number of lectures, the number of agencies and libraries.
