  • Subiect: The production technology of traditional and prehistoric ceramics The technological flow of ceramics production is carried out as follows: procurement of raw materials, processing, modeling clay and its decoration, drying, burning and eventually decoration. The clays that are used are cleaned, grinded, mixed, kneaded, etc. Then they are shaped by hand or at the Potter's wheel. At the beginning was the slow wheel driven by hand and then rapidly wheel mechanically driven. Modeling techniques of clay vessels before firing would be: smooth, striking, punching, milling, polishing and finishing, padding, incising, painting. Before the burning process of the vessels the drying must be done slowly to avoid cracking, spread, discarding.
