  • Subiect: Military service in Transylvania at the middle of 19th century. Legislative frames The issue of serving the compulsory military service in Transylvania and the legislative frames between which it was realized at the middle of the 19th century, did not represent, until now, an interesting subject for Romanian historiography. Being given its social, economic, military, psychological or other nature implications, I’ve decided to approach this subject especially from the law projects perspective adopted by the Diet of Transylvania in 1847 and 1848, highlighting the modifications or changes brought in comparison with the previous legislation, inclusive between the two projects, as a result of the events occurred during the revolution from 1848-1849.
